art every day month, day 7.

If you look for beauty,
you will find it.
Sometimes it is found in the stolen, shared
moments.
Those truly embody
the meaning of the
word.

~Written by me.

I got to thinking about this watercolor piece and how much I *hated* it. I mean, it just didn't come out anything like I would have wanted it to. But why was I expecting so much? This was only the second time I had done any watercolors like this.

Then I got to thinking about my 21 month-old daughter, and how I had to consider letting her join me at first. Riiiight. Like it's reeeeally that serious.

Once she joined me and started scribbling her little lines on it, I immediately fell in love with it.

That's right. I think it's awesome.

Because it's now a memory etched in my mind, of something precious we did together. And that makes it instantly beautiful.

How sweet that you are including your daughter in your art. It will make some wonderful memories AND art. Speaking from one who has spent many a time with a kid who loved paints, messes and anything fun and creative. She is now 18 and off to college, but those memories will stay with us forever.
