the new challenge.

The other day, I mentioned a new challenge I would be starting. I started today. And no, it's not No Shave Month.

It is the Art Every Day Month challenge.

Every day in November, I will create a piece of art and share it.

The Art Every Day Month challenge was created and is hosted by Leah Piken Kolidas.

I am really excited about this challenge, but also nervous. In my little bio in the sidebar of my blog it mentions that I AM an opera singer, because I am. I AM a teacher. I AM a musician.

It also states that I am a WANNA-BE photographer, and a WANNA-BE artist.

No delusions of grandeur here. I know that there's a long way to go before I can claim to be those things. But as I shared here, I have decidedly embarked upon the journey of becoming. It's because I have a thirst for learning new things, and because these mediums and the works of others within them have always enriched my life and inspired me, and I just want to do it too, and see if I can.

I know I can.

Even so, the act of sharing my best efforts at this, knowing that at times they may seem really...I don't know...Crayola, makes me almost too nervous to do it.

But I'm doing it anyway. Because I believe that I can grow in this area if I commit to it for thirty days.

I'll be doing several different types of pieces, trying my hand at different things, but also including photography. For today, I am sharing a photo that I edited earlier.

This is what I created today. Tomorrow will be a different medium and a list of resources that I'll be using this month.
